About Backcountry Medics

 Backcountry Medics was founded in 2021 with the belief that Wildland Firefighters deserve better patient care. Our guiding principles—Patient Care First, Employees Second, and Profits Last—have led us to be recognized as one of the nation’s premier REMS providers. We believe strongly in the SOF truths born from real-world experience that our team brings to every incident:

-Humans are more important than hardware

-Quality trumps quantity

-Specialized units cannot be mass-produced

We are a small, veteran-owned and operated company based in Boise, Idaho. While PJs, Rangers, and other SOF veterans make up over 60% of our team, former Hotshots, Ski Patrollers, Firefighters, and Climbers round out the rest of our family. Backcountry Medics is known for a culture of performance and professionalism, while also being one of the friendliest teams you’ll encounter on a fire.
